Righteousness and Kindness!

Righteousness and Kindness!

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those who pursue righteousness and kindness. In Jesus’ name amen.

Righteousness has many synonyms: virtue, morality, justice, decency, uprightness, rectitude, honesty, and blamelessness.

According to Christianity.com,
“Righteousness is an attribute that belongs to God, the Lawgiver, and is manifested in His laws. No man can be justified by his own works apart from God’s ordinance. Therefore, righteousness is a wonderful gift from God to humanity through his love: it is the God-given quality imputed to man upon believing in the Son of God.”

Jesus Christ.

Psalm 21:21 (ESV) is about those who pursue righteousness and kindness.

“Whoever pursues righteousness and kindness
will find life, righteousness, and honor.”

Life everlasting awaits those who believe in the Son of God. Have you been waiting to put your trust in him? Don’t delay.

Live in a Corner of a Housetop?

Live in a Corner of a Housetop?

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those with quarrelsome spouses. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Some people would give almost anything to have tranquility in their marriage. People suffering in adverse circumstances can find themselves the victims of abuse and worse.

Proverbs 21:9 (ESV) may sound humorous, but is rather profound.

“It is better to live in a corner of the housetop
than in a houseshared with a quarrelsome wife.”

If you are in a challenging relationship, seek wise counsel. Find a professional to confide in. If possible, find reconciliation.

The Lord Turns a King’s Heart!

The Lord Turns a King’s Heart!

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those who know the Lord turns a king’s heart wherever he will.

World leaders are powerful people. They have advisors, security details, supporters, and detractors.

Some think they are in control. But this is not the case.

Proverbs 21:1 (ESV) tells us who is in charge.

“The king’s heart is a stream of water in the hand of the Lord;
he turns it wherever he will.”

Some people act like kings in the workplace and at home.

Stop thinking political leaders have destiny in their hands.

Rather, acknowledge God!

He is the true power behind the throne. Behind your throne, too.

Steps Are From the Lord!

Steps Are From the Lord!

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those who know a person’s steps are from you. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Do you believe that God is involved in every aspect of your life?

It is comforting to know that God already knows where we will go, what we will do, and with whom we will spend time.

Proverbs 20:24 (ESV) reassures of this point.

“A man’s steps are from the Lord;
how then can man understand his way?”

Pray and ask God to give you his divine guidance. Rather than tell God where you want to go, why not ask God to guide your steps as you follow his will for your life.

Blessed by the Hearing Ear and the Seeing Eye!

Blessed by the Hearing Ear and the Seeing Eye!

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those who are blessed with hearing and sight. In Jesus name, amen.

In the fifth grade, a teacher asked, “Have you ever had your eyes checked.”

I said, “No.”

My first glasses changed everything. I could see, so I could read.

Proverbs 20:12 (ESV) is about who gives us our senses.

“The hearing ear and the seeing eye,
the Lord has made them both.”

Be thankful for your senses. Take time to marvel at what the Lord has done by giving the gift of hearing and sight.

Do not overlook the idea that the Lord can use our hearing ears and our seeing eyes to allow us to learn more about him.

Encourage a Child’s Pure and Upright Conduct!

Encourage a Child’s Pure and Upright Conduct!

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those children whose conduct is pure and upright. In Jesus’ name, amen.

In law, in some jurisdictions, a child of age eight can be held responsible for their actions. Courts have ruled that a child of this age has the ability to form willful intent to act.

Parents and grandparents, share with your children Proverbs 20:11 (ESV) which is about a child’s reputation.

“Even a child makes himself known by his acts,
by whether his conduct is pure and upright.”

Help your children to build a good reputation.

Give praise for pure and upright behavior. Affirm a child in the way they should go.
