Faithfulness of God?

Faithfulness of God?

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom, for your faithfulness endures forever. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Psalm 117 (ESV) has just two verses. These verses are packed with a message of praise, honor, God’s love, and his faithfulness forever.

“Praise the Lord, all nations!
Extol him, all peoples!
For great is his steadfast love toward us,
and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever.
Praise the Lord!”

Won’t you praise the Lord, and extol him? Praise him!

Me? A Servant?

Me? A Servant?

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those who declare, “I am your servant.” In Jesus’ name, amen.”

Jesus, when he was at the Last Supper, washed the disciples’ feet. He took on the role of a servant.

Psalm 116:16-19 (ESV) offers an example of a person who is so grateful to God for all he has done to loose his bonds, he becomes subservient.

“O Lord, I am your servant;
I am your servant, the son of your maidservant.
You have loosed my bonds.
I will offer to you the sacrifice of thanksgiving
and call on the name of the Lord.
I will pay my vows to the Lord
in the presence of all his people,
in the courts of the house of the Lord,
in your midst, O Jerusalem.
Praise the Lord!”

Do you serve others? Are you willing to become subservient to God? Think of your daily activity as service, doing everything as unto God.

Delivered My Soul From Death?

Delivered My Soul From Death?

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those who say, “You have delivered my soul from death.” In Jesus’ name, amen.

How would you like to be able to defeat death?

In Psalm 116:6-9 (ESV) the psalmist not only says, “He (the Lord) saved me,” he goes on to talk about his soul being delivered from death. This is good news.

“The Lord preserves the simple;
when I was brought low, he saved me.
Return, O my soul, to your rest;
for the Lord has dealt bountifully with you.

For you have delivered my soul from death,
my eyes from tears,
my feet from stumbling;
I will walk before the Lord
in the land of the living.”

John 3:16 (ESV) is a verse about being saved from death.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. ”

What have you done to deserve eternal life? The truth is we don’t deserve eternal life. It is a gift of God. Rest assured when you believe what it says in John 3:16. Accept Jesus Christ as Lord and savior, and be saved.

Answered Prayer?

Answered Prayer?

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom because you hear our prayers. In Jesus’ name, amen.

One of the number one issues people face today deals with communication. The research shows that many people are not very good listeners. A large percentage of people listen to their boss better than they do to their spouse. People love a good listener.

Psalm 116:1-5 (ESV) is about communication with God, and how he hears our pleas for mercy.

“I love the Lord, because he has heard
my voice and my pleas for mercy.
Because he inclined his ear to me,
therefore I will call on him as long as I live.
The snares of death encompassed me;
the pangs of Sheol laid hold on me;
I suffered distress and anguish.
Then I called on the name of the Lord:
“O Lord, I pray, deliver my soul!”

Gracious is the Lord, and righteous;
our God is merciful.”

How are your communication skills? Could you listen better to your loved ones? If so, then start today. The Lord hears pleas for mercy and delivers our soul. Thank God, the Lord hears us.

Bless?

Bless?

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those who know God will bless them. In Jesus’ name, amen.

When God gives his blessing, it means he gives his divine favor. When we say we “Bless the Lord,” it means to glorify him.

Psalm 1115:12-18 (ESV) refers to the how God blesses his people, and how his people bless him.

“The Lord has remembered us; he will bless us;
he will bless the house of Israel;
he will bless the house of Aaron;
he will bless those who fear the Lord,
both the small and the great.

May the Lord give you increase,
you and your children!
May you be blessed by the Lord,
who made heaven and earth!

The heavens are the Lord’s heavens,
but the earth he has given to the children of man.
The dead do not praise the Lord,
nor do any who go down into silence.
But we will bless the Lord
from this time forth and forevermore.
Praise the Lord!”

As the psalm says, “Praise the Lord!” He has blessed and deserves to be blessed. Stop. Give thanks. Praise! Worship.

The Big Bet on Super Bowl Sunday 2022

The Big Bet on Super Bowl Sunday 2022

Have you heard of Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale?

He bet $9,500,000 the Cincinnati Bangles would beat the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LVI.

To spell it out, this man bet nine million, five hundred thousand dollars on the outcome of a single football game.

For those who watched the game, it was exciting to witness the teams trading the lead back and forth. It was not until the last minutes of the game that the Rams got a touchdown and made the extra point to move ahead.

In the remaining time, the Bangles had possession of the ball and were heading down field for what they hoped would be a game-winning touchdown or to make a field goal to at least tie the game.

The Bengals’ hopes ended when their quarterback was sacked, and they were stopped. Time ran out, and the game ended.

The Rams won the Super Bowl LVI 23 to 20.

Mattress Mack lost all of his money.

In life, there is one sure bet. We are not getting out of this life alive.

Like to bet? Instead of putting your faith in a football team to win a game, why not put your faith in Jesus Christ? He was born, lived, died, and was resurrected to give you eternal life. Life everlasting is promised in John 3:16-17 (ESV).

 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.”

Hold on to your money. There is no wager required to believe and be saved.
