Will You Encourage a Child’s Pure and Upright Conduct?

Will You Encourage a Child’s Pure and Upright Conduct?

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those children whose conduct is pure and upright. In Jesus’s name, amen.

In law, in some jurisdictions, a child of age eight can be held responsible for their actions. Courts have ruled that a child of this age has the ability to form willful intent to act.

Parents, share with your children Proverbs 20:11 (ESV) which is about a child’s reputation.

“Even a child makes himself known by his acts,
by whether his conduct is pure and upright.”

Help your children to build a good reputation.

Give praise for pure and upright behavior.

Do Not Envy People Of Violence!

Do Not Envy People Of Violence!

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those who do not envy people of violence. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Many individuals try to blur the lines between good and evil. In Scripture, there is a clear distinction between the two. Evil doers are violent, devious, and wicked.

Proverbs 3:31-35 (ESV) shows the contrast between evil ones and the righteous.

“Do not envy a man of violence
and do not choose any of his ways,
for the devious person is an abomination to the Lord,
but the upright are in his confidence.
The Lord’s curse is on the house of the wicked,
but he blesses the dwelling of the righteous.
Toward the scorners he is scornful,
but to the humble he gives favor.
The wise will inherit honor,
but fools get disgrace.”

The wise ultimately get the prize by inheriting honor. Avoid blurring the lines and rationalizing away evil.

An Upright Heart?

An Upright Heart?

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those who praise you with an upright heart when they learn your righteous rules. In Jesus’ name, amen.

The Bible provides God’s Law in the Ten Commandments. If worshipers would be willing to keep God’s law, then the world would be a different place.

Image if, in today’s culture, murder and thievery stopped and children began honoring their parents. Society would change completely.

Although this is not going to happen, there are believers who desire to follow God. These people do obey the commandments. When they fall short, it is best when they ask forgiveness, repent, and turn from their wicked ways.

Psalm 119:4-8 (ESV) is about having a sincere desire to follow God’s law.

“You have commanded your precepts
to be kept diligently.
Oh that my ways may be steadfast
in keeping your statutes!
Then I shall not be put to shame,
having my eyes fixed on all your commandments.
I will praise you with an upright heart,
when I learn your righteous rules.[b]
I will keep your statutes;
do not utterly forsake me!”

Look at your life. Are you even trying to keep God’s law? If there is something that needs to be changed, than make a mental not of it, and start acting in accordance with God’s law.
