Does The Lord Turn a King’s Heart?

Does The Lord Turn a King’s Heart?

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those who know the Lord turns a king’s heart wherever he will. In Jesus’s name, amen.

World leaders are powerful people. They have advisors, security details, supporters, and detractors.

Some think they are in control. But this is not the case.

Proverbs 21:1 (ESV) tells us who is in charge.

“The king’s heart is a stream of water in the hand of the Lord; he turns it wherever he will.”

Some people act like kings in the workplace and at home.

Stop thinking business and political leaders have destiny in their hands.

Rather, acknowledge God!

He is the true power behind the throne. Behind your throne, too.

A Soft Word Turns Away Wrath!

A Soft Word Turns Away Wrath!

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those whose soft words turn away wrath. In Jesus’s name, amen.

Mike Rowe and Matt Crouch are on Trinity Broadcasting Network on Sunday nights with a program titled The Story Behind the Story. As the story is told by Mike, it is brought to life for viewers to see.

Few people know that Bob Ross was a drill sergeant before he became famous for teaching painting on PBS. After years of yelling at troops, he became well-known for his soft-spoken manner.

Proverbs 15:1 was quoted during the broadcast.

“A soft answer turns away wrath,
but a harsh word stirs up anger.”

What is your preference?

A soft answer? Harsh words? Choose wisely.

If you have been known for harsh words, change and become known for your soft answers.

I was just watching TBN. Mike Rowe was the subject to the show because he has a podcast The Way I Heard It. The episode was about Bob Ross. TBN had turned the podcast into a video. Few people know that Bob Ross had been a drill sergeant before he became famous for teaching painting on PBS. After years of yelling at troops, he became well-known for his soft-spoken manner.

Water from a Rock?

Water from a Rock?

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those who recall how you used Moses in the wilderness to strike a rock to provide water. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Scripture is full of miracles. The record of what happened to Moses at Horeb when he struck a rock and water flowed appears in Exodus 17:1-7. Even though the people had complained about not having enough water, God provided.

Psalm 114:1-8 (ESV) reminds the Israelites of their history including the parting of the Red Sea and how God allowed the people to pass through the Jordan River. There is also reference to Moses and the rock.

“When Israel went out from Egypt,
the house of Jacob from a people of strange language,
Judah became his sanctuary,
Israel his dominion.

The sea looked and fled;
Jordan turned back.
The mountains skipped like rams,
the hills like lambs.

What ails you, O sea, that you flee?
O Jordan, that you turn back?
O mountains, that you skip like rams?
O hills, like lambs?

Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord,
at the presence of the God of Jacob,
who turns the rock into a pool of water,
the flint into a spring of water.”
