Whatever the source of the news, God tells is in Psalm 112:7-8 (ESV) how a person who fears (respects) the Lord and delight in his commandments responds.

“He is not afraid of bad news;
his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord.
His heart is steady; he will not be afraid,
until he looks in triumph on his adversaries.”

God Defeats The Enemy!

God Defeats The Enemy!

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those who know God is their helper. In Jesus’ name, amen.

When facing overwhelming odds, some people give up. Although David had enemies seeking to kill him, David, the psalmist, appeals to God.

In Psalm 54:1-7 (ESV), David’s appeal includes prayer, offering, being saved from trouble, and ends in triumph.

“O God, save me by your name,
and vindicate me by your might.
O God, hear my prayer;
give ear to the words of my mouth.

For strangers have risen against me;
ruthless men seek my life;
they do not set God before themselves. Selah

Behold, God is my helper;
the Lord is the upholder of my life.
He will return the evil to my enemies;
in your faithfulness put an end to them.

With a freewill offering I will sacrifice to you;
I will give thanks to your name, O Lord, for it is good.
For he has delivered me from every trouble,
and my eye has looked in triumph on my enemies.”

Are you outnumbered? Feeling overwhelmed? Stop. Reread Psalm 54. God delivers from every trouble.
