Do You Know Someone Lacking Sense?

Do You Know Someone Lacking Sense?

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those who are Lacking Sense. In Jesus’ name, amen.

What are the tell-tale signs of neglect?

Years ago, there was a university study conducted in a major city in the South. The researcher looked at the condition of birdbaths throughout the city. The study found there was a statistical correlation between a family in distress with the poor condition of the family’s birdbath. Well maintained birdbaths more likely showed stability in the home.

Proverbs 24:30-34 (ESV) shares King Solomon’s observation of what might at one time have been a thriving piece of land.

“I passed by the field of a sluggard,
by the vineyard of a man lacking sense,
and behold, it was all overgrown with thorns;
the ground was covered with nettles,
and its stone wall was broken down.
Then I saw and considered it;
I looked and received instruction.
A little sleep, a little slumber,
a little folding of the hands to rest,
and poverty will come upon you like a robber,
and want like an armed man.”

Let this be fair warning. Avoid the habits of those who don’t want to work. Have a property in serious disrepair?

The Vineyard of a Man Lacking Sense!

The Vineyard of a Man Lacking Sense!

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those who have the discipline to work hard. In Jesus’ name, amen.

What are the tell-tale signs of neglect?

Neither Slumber Nor Sleep?

Neither Slumber Nor Sleep?

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those who know you will neither slumber nor sleep. In Jesus’ name Amen.

There is a song entitled, “What a Mighty God We Serve.”

The author is anonymous. It begins as follows:

“What a mighty God we serve.
What a mighty God we serve.
Angels bow before Him.
Heaven and earth adore Him.
What a mighty God we serve.”

God’s attributes include his being omnipotent (all-powerful),
omniscience (all-knowing) , and omnipresent (present everywhere).

Psalm 121:4-8 (ESV) tells us God will neither slumber nor sleep.

“Behold, he who keeps Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord is your keeper;
the Lord is your shade on your right hand.
The sun shall not strike you by day,
nor the moon by night.

The Lord will keep you from all evil;
he will keep your life.
The Lord will keep
your going out and your coming in
from this time forth and forevermore.”

Who do you serve? Is it the mighty God of the song, or is it some lesser god?

Take time to consider the magnificence of God. He never slumbers or sleeps. What does that mean for you? If you have not already, ask God to reveal himself to you.
