Need Peace?

Need Peace?

I pray for wisdom for people who are desperate for a moment of peace. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Know anyone living with big challenges?

Life is not always easy.

When there seems to be no escaping life’s difficulties, realize that Jesus is clear. He gives peace!

This is great news. Jesus says in John 14:27 (ESV), “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”

The peace Jesus is talking about is something anyone can acquire by having faith in him.

It is the confidence he walks together with us though life’s most trying times.

Have faith and peace.

How Is Your Walk?

How Is Your Walk?

I pray for wisdom for those who want to walk wisely. In Jesus’ name, amen.

What does it mean when a person asks a believer, “How is your walk?”

There are clues in Ephesians 5:15-17 (ESV) when it says: “Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.”

This verse is not about walking down the street. Rather, figuratively speaking, it is about how a person walks through life.

Are you making wise decisions? Do you have a sense of urgency? Are you putting faith into action? Look at where you are on your journey of faith.

Are you becoming foolish? If so, change right now, and walk in God-honoring wisdom.

Let me know what you think.

Losing Heart?

Losing Heart?

I pray for wisdom for those who are tempted to lose heart. In Jesus’ name, amen.

There are times in everyone’s life when it seems an objective is out of reach.

Circumstances intervene to prevent success.

When it seems impossible to fulfill a goal, especially when health issues intervene, people can lose heart and become discouraged.

Scripture tells us in 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (ESV): “So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.”

These verses gives us hope. Don’t give up. Be renewed day by day. Focus on the eternal.

Rejoice in Suffering?

Rejoice in Suffering?

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those who are suffering. In Jesus’ name, amen.

In both our physical or emotional suffering, God is with us.

How can it be that Paul links suffering to hope?

Romans 5:2-4 (ESV) says: “Through him (Jesus) we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope.”

Follow the logic: If a person suffers, they have to endure much. Endurance has the idea of being able to carry on even when things in life are difficult.

Paul says that during the process of enduring one is building character. In the end, the character in turn produces hope.

Don’t give up in the face of suffering. Have hope in life everlasting!

Bible Giveaway?

Bible Giveaway?

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those who distribute Bibles. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Millions of Bibles are given away every year. Some are given to family members and friends. Others purchase Bibles with the intent of giving them away to total strangers.

As Scripture declares in Isaiah 55:11 (NLT),
“It is the same with my word.
I send it out, and it always produces fruit.
It will accomplish all I want it to,
and it will prosper everywhere I send it.”

The King James Version says,
“It [God’s word] shall not return unto me void.”

There are countless testimonies of people who, while reading Scripture, experienced rebirth, renewal, and revival.

And don’t forget to also tell people about Bible applications for phones. YouVersion Bible is just one example. It has a feature that will allow a person to hear Scripture being read aloud.

Take action! Pray for wisdom! Find an organization that distributes Bibles and make a contribution. Or, find reasonably priced Bibles, buy some, and then give them away. Or, share how a Bible application can make it possible to hear God’s word being read to you. God can use you to get Scripture into the hands of those who need it.

Aware of the Time?

Aware of the Time?

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for seekers who think they have unlimited time to make a decision. In Jesus’ name, amen.

People in different cultures view time differently. Some cultures are event-oriented. To them, it may be acceptable and even preferred to arrive late for a party because the expectation is the party will last for hours. Other cultures place a high value on starting and stopping on time. If a person fails to understand the cultural norm, it can lead to embarrassment, hurt feelings, and serious misunderstandings.

Isaiah 55:6 (ESV) says, “Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near.”

What would it be like to live in a culture that locks the doors, so no one is allowed to enter late?

I know a college professor who told his students he intended to lock his doors when class started. Once this teacher informed the students of the rules, he strictly enforced his locked-door policy. Can you guess what happened? Students arrived on time. Seekers. Please arrive on time.

God can be found now by calling upon him when he is near. Don’t wait until time runs out and the doors are locked permanently.
