Cry Out for God?

Cry Out for God?

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those who cry out to you for help. In Jesus’ name, amen.

People can cry out the God for a million different reasons. It can be in desperation, in defeat, at a moment of loss, or in a crisis. Whatever the circumstances, God is aware.

Psalm 119:145-152 (ESV) begins with a whole hearted cry to the Lord.

“With my whole heart I cry; answer me, O Lord!
I will keep your statutes.
I call to you; save me,
that I may observe your testimonies.
I rise before dawn and cry for help;
I hope in your words.
My eyes are awake before the watches of the night,
that I may meditate on your promise.
Hear my voice according to your steadfast love;
O Lord, according to your justice give me life.
They draw near who persecute me with evil purpose;
they are far from your law.
But you are near, O Lord,
and all your commandments are true.
Long have I known from your testimonies
that you have founded them forever.”

Are you at a point where you are crying out to God? If not, consider approaching holy God with reverence and honor. If yes, you are crying out, I believe God led you to read this post. Jesus Christ said in John 14:6 (ESV), “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Will you trust his holy and inspired word? It is okay to cry out like the psalmist. Live expecting God to intervene in yours and other’s lives.

Praise God?

Praise God?

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those who know the name of the Lord is to be praised. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Synonyms for the word “praise” include works like exultation, glorification, honor, crown, homage, devotion, worship, reverence, veneration, and adulation.

Psalm 113:1-3 (ESV) puts praising the Lord at forefront.

“Praise the Lord!
Praise, O servants of the Lord,
praise the name of the Lord!

Blessed be the name of the Lord
from this time forth and forevermore!
From the rising of the sun to its setting,
the name of the Lord is to be praised!”

Some people use the expression, “Praise the Lord” casually. Do you make a habit of praising God? Will knowing the synonyms change the way you think about what it means to praise the Lord? Reread the psalm. Spend some time praising the Lord!

Feeling Shame and Guilt?

Feeling Shame and Guilt?

Lord, I pray for wisdom for those struggling with feelings of shame and guilt. In Jesus’ name, amen.

China is often characterized as being an honor/shame society.

Being personally honorable and bringing honor to the family is vital.

However, whenever a person falters, the shame reflects not only on the person but also on the family.

An individual and a family can carry the burden of shameful acts for a lifetime, and this dishonor can even be passed down generationally.

Anyone with a burden of shame can trust the Apostle Paul when he writes in Ephesians 1:7-8 (ESV): “In [Christ] we have redemption thorough his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight.”

Be wise! Know shame and guilt are defeated!

Trust in Christ.

Stop the guilt and shame once and for all!
