God Created You and Me!

God Created You and Me!

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those who know your hands have made and fashioned me. In Jesus’ name, amen.

One of the great demarcations in modern society can be found in the first words of the Bible, Genesis 1:1 (ESV).

“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”

This verse separates those who acknowledge God’s role in creation and those who do not.

Psalm 139:13 (ESV) says,

“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.”

Psalm 119:73 (ESV) also starts off recognizing God is a personal creator.

“Your hands have made and fashioned me;
give me understanding that I may learn your commandments.”

Where are you with your thoughts about God creating heaven and earth? Do you accept God personally knit you together in your mother’s womb, and that his hands made and fashioned you? If so, rejoice. If not, ask God to show you He is real.

Giving Names!

Giving Names!

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those who are choosing names for their children. In Jesus name, amen.

In Psalm 139:13 (ESV), the psalmist is referring to God when he writes,

“For you formed my inward parts;
you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.”

In 1 Samuel 1:14-18 Hannah prayed for a child, and 1 Samuel 1:20 (ESV) explains what happened next.

“And in due time Hannah conceived and bore a son, and she called his name Samuel, for she said, “I have asked for him from the Lord.”

There is a note in the English Standard Version that explains the derivation of the name: “Samuel sounds like the Hebrew for heard of God.”

God answered Hannah’s prayer.

God knit together Samuel, and he knit us together.

Fearfully and Wonderfully Made?

Fearfully and Wonderfully Made?

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those who know you knitted them together in their mother’s womb. In Jesus’ name, amen.

God is omniscient. The synonyms for “omniscient” include all-knowing and all-seeing.

Psalm 139:13-16 (ESV) is about how each person is wonderfully made.

“For you formed my inward parts;
you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made,
Wonderful are your works;
my soul knows it very well.

My frame was not hidden from you,
when I was being made in secret,
intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed substance;
in your book were written, every one of them,
the days that were formed for me,
when as yet there was none of them.”

We have so many days to live. Why not make the most of them? You can. Trust God. James 4:8 (ESV) says, “Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.”

Keep the faith.
