Avoid Adultery!

Avoid Adultery!

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those who refuse to be tempted by the lips of the forbidden. In Jesus’s name, amen.

King Solomon gave advice to men tempted to commit adultery. His dire warning says of the woman providing the temptation, “Her feet go down to death; her steps follow the path to Sheol.”

Proverbs 5:1-6 (ESV) describes what happens if a person is seduced by the temptress.

“My son, be attentive to my wisdom;
incline your ear to my understanding,
that you may keep discretion,
and your lips may guard knowledge.
For the lips of a forbidden woman drip honey,
and her speech is smoother than oil,
but in the end she is bitter as wormwood,
sharp as a two-edged sword.
Her feet go down to death;
her steps follow the path to Sheol;
she does not ponder the path of life;
her ways wander, and she does not know it.”

Beware the temptress. If you have already succumbed to adulterous behavior, stop now. Repent and ask God’s forgiveness. Go, and sin no more.

God Forgives Our Transgressions!

God Forgives Our Transgressions!

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those who know God forgives our transgressions. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Are you ready for Judgment Day? Believers and followers of Jesus have nothing to fear. Jesus paid the price for sin when he died on the cross. He rose again to sit at God’s right hand to judge the living and the dead. God sees everyone.

David, the psalmist, in Psalm 32:1-2 (ESV) writers about transgressions and forgiveness.

“Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven,
whose sin is covered.
Blessed is the man against whom the Lord counts no iniquity,
and in whose spirit there is no deceit.”

Has the message of these verses affected you? Ask God’s leading as to next steps. Trust what he tells you. He will open doors.

Plentiful Redemption?

Plentiful Redemption?

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those who know with the Lord there is steadfast love, and with him is plentiful redemption. In Jesus’ name, amen.

It is amazing that God loves us even with all of our shortcomings. God forgives.

In Psalm 130:1-8 (ESV) we see there is a plea to be heard, forgiveness, patience, hope, and redemption.

“Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord!
O Lord, hear my voice!
Let your ears be attentive
to the voice of my pleas for mercy!

If you, O Lord, should mark iniquities,
O Lord, who could stand?
But with you there is forgiveness,
that you may be feared.

I wait for the Lord, my soul waits,
and in his word I hope;
my soul waits for the Lord
more than watchmen for the morning,
more than watchmen for the morning.

O Israel, hope in the Lord!
For with the Lord there is steadfast love,
and with him is plentiful redemption.
And he will redeem Israel
from all his iniquities.”

Are you willing to wait for the Lord’s timing? The psalmist not only says his soul waits, but he has hope. Let us be hopeful whatever comes our way.

East Is From The West?

East Is From The West?

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those who know as far as the east is from the west, so far do you remove our transgressions from us. In Jesus’ name, amen.

World class runners can cover the distance of a mile in less than four minutes. Those who drive across the country have some idea of the time to travel the distance from coast to coast. Those who circumnavigate the earth in the International Space Station look at time and distance from a completely different perspective.

Psalm 103:11-14 (ESV) is about God’s grace regarding our transgressions.

“For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him;
as far as the east is from the west,
so far does he remove our transgressions from us.
As a father shows compassion to his children,
so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.
For he knows our frame;
he remembers that we are dust.”

Are you at a point to seek God’s forgiveness? Sincerely and humbly approach him. He will do far more than you can ask or imagine.
