Cried to the Lord?

Cried to the Lord?

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for anyone who has cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress.

Verses 6, 13, 19, and 28 of Psalm 107 (ESV) are the same:

“Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble,
and he delivered them from their distress.”

Turn on the nightly news, and it seems everywhere there is trouble. How comforting to know the Lord delivers from distress. Are you experiencing trouble? Ask God to walk with you through the trial.

The Day of Distress?

The Day of Distress?

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those who know you are a refuge in the day of distress. In Jesus’ amen.

Are you in distress and experiencing any of the following? Sorrow? Suffering? Anguish? Grief? Misery? Pain?

David, the psalmist, had men who wanted him dead. The two verses of Psalm 59:16-17 (ESV) show his confidence in God.

“But I will sing of your strength;
I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning.
For you have been to me a fortress
and a refuge in the day of my distress.
O my Strength, I will sing praises to you,
for you, O God, are my fortress,
the God who shows me steadfast love.”

Do you have the same response to crises? Ask God for help. God will walk with you through even the most difficult situations.
