Praise God Seven Times a Day!

Praise God Seven Times a Day!

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those who praise you seven times a day. In Jesus’s name, amen.

Will you make it a habit to look for things for which to praise God? The psalmist claims to praise God seven times a day. Would you be willing to do the same? How about more often? If you do not already, set some time aside each morning or evening and praise God from whom all blessings flow.

Psalm 119:161-168 (ESV) includes the idea of rejoicing at God’s word and praise.

“Princes persecute me without cause,
but my heart stands in awe of your words.
I rejoice at your word
like one who finds great spoil.
I hate and abhor falsehood,
but I love your law.
Seven times a day I praise you
for your righteous rules.
Great peace have those who love your law;
nothing can make them stumble.
I hope for your salvation, O Lord,
and I do your commandments.
My soul keeps your testimonies;
I love them exceedingly.
I keep your precepts and testimonies,
for all my ways are before you.”

While you are praising God, will you please praise him for his holy and inspired word?

Meditate On All The Lord Has Done?

Meditate On All The Lord Has Done?

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those who meditate on all you have done. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Joshua 1:8 (ESV) says,

“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”

In Psalm 143:1-6 (ESV) the psalmist, David, is pleading with God for mercy and refers to meditating.

“Hear my prayer, O Lord;
give ear to my pleas for mercy!
In your faithfulness answer me, in your righteousness!
Enter not into judgment with your servant,
for no one living is righteous before you.

For the enemy has pursued my soul;
he has crushed my life to the ground;
he has made me sit in darkness like those long dead.
Therefore my spirit faints within me;
my heart within me is appalled.

I remember the days of old;
I meditate on all that you have done;
I ponder the work of your hands.
I stretch out my hands to you;
my soul thirsts for you like a parched land. Selah

Ever feel like David? Has the enemy pursued your soul? Has he crushed your life to the ground? Has he made you sit in darkness like those long dead? Respond as David did. Meditate. Ponder the works of God’s hands.
