He Remembers His Covenant Forever?

He Remembers His Covenant Forever?

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those who know you remember your covenant forever. In Jesus’ name, amen.

God made a promise to Abram, whose name was later changed to Abraham. The promise involved land.

Genesis 12:6-7 (ESV) says, “Abram passed through the land to the place at Shechem, to the oak of Moreh. At that time the Canaanites were in the land. Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said, “To your offspring I will give this land.” So he built there an altar to the Lord, who had appeared to him.”

Psalm 105:7-11 (ESV)

“He is the Lord our God;
his judgments are in all the earth.
He remembers his covenant forever,
the word that he commanded, for a thousand generations,
the covenant that he made with Abraham,
his sworn promise to Isaac,
which he confirmed to Jacob as a statute,
to Israel as an everlasting covenant,
saying, ’To you I will give the land of Canaan
as your portion for an inheritance.’”

From these verses we see God’s promise was fulfilled. Ever doubt God? Stop and reflect. Although it took generations for the offspring to inhabit the land, God was faithful. Trust God, for he is faithful!

Keep The Lord’s Covenant and Commandments?

Keep The Lord’s Covenant and Commandments?

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those who keep your covenant and remember to keep your commandments. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Every day we are alive is a miracle. In light of eternity, consider your lifespan.

Psalm 103:15-18 (ESV) helps us put our life in perspective to God’s eternal nature and how much he loves us.

“As for man, his days are like grass;
he flourishes like a flower of the field;
for the wind passes over it, and it is gone,
and its place knows it no more.
But the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting
to everlasting on those who fear him,
and his righteousness to children’s children,
to those who keep his covenant
and remember to do his commandments.”

Some people might take following God’s commandment so literally it becomes legalistic. Rather, devote yourself to thankfully being obedient to God’s law because of all he has done for you.
