Do Not Delight in Wickedness!

I pray for wisdom for those who know God does not delight in wickedness. In Jesus’ name, amen.

God is holy. He does not tolerate certain behavior. In stark contrast to God’s holiness, there are wicked people intent on doing evil.

We learn in Psalm 5:4-5 (ESV) about God’s standards:

“For you are not a God who delights in wickedness;
evil may not dwell with you.

The boastful shall not stand before your eyes;
you hate all evildoers.

You destroy those who speak lies;
the Lord abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.”

If you have done evil acts, God’s holiness requires repentance. Is it time to change? Then change.

Beware of those who are evil.

Saved From Bloodthirsty Men?

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those who need to be saved from bloodthirsty men. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Look at the latest news. The statistics are startling. Targeted or indiscriminate violence is having a devastating impact on communities. It also affects individuals.

Psalm 59:1-5 (ESV) is about David, the psalmist’s, request that he will be delivered from people sent to kill him.

“Deliver me from my enemies, O my God;
protect me from those who rise up against me;
deliver me from those who work evil,
and save me from bloodthirsty men.

For behold, they lie in wait for my life;
fierce men stir up strife against me.
For no transgression or sin of mine, O Lord,
for no fault of mine, they run and make ready.
Awake, come to meet me, and see!
You, Lord God of hosts, are God of Israel.
Rouse yourself to punish all the nations;
spare none of those who treacherously plot evil. Selah ”

Need saving from bloodthirsty men or women? If so, run to God for refuge. Ask him to intervene. Whatever the need. Pray.
