Bless Them!

Bless Them!

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those who know God will bless them. In Jesus’ name, amen.

When God gives his blessing, it means he gives his divine favor. When we say we “Bless the Lord,” it means to glorify him.

Psalm 115:12-18 (ESV) refers to the how God blesses his people, and how his people bless him.

“The Lord has remembered us; he will bless us;
he will bless the house of Israel;
he will bless the house of Aaron;
he will bless those who fear the Lord,
both the small and the great.

May the Lord give you increase,
you and your children!
May you be blessed by the Lord,
who made heaven and earth!

The heavens are the Lord’s heavens,
but the earth he has given to the children of man.
The dead do not praise the Lord,
nor do any who go down into silence.
But we will bless the Lord
from this time forth and forevermore.
Praise the Lord!”

As the psalm says, “Praise the Lord!” He has blessed and deserves to be blessed. Stop. Give thanks. Praise! Worship!

Their Help and Their Shield!

Their Help and Their Shield!

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those who know you are their help and their shield. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Even with the words “In God We Trust” on American money, it is hard to determine what exactly that means for people in the United States. Where do you stand?

The people of Ancient Israel might not have put the phrase on their coins, but there were times God’s people trusted in him. Yet, at other times, God’s people did not trust him and they turned to worship false gods.

Psalm 115:9-11 (ESV) is about trusting in the Lord.

“O Israel, trust in the Lord!
He is their help and their shield.
O house of Aaron, trust in the Lord!
He is their help and their shield.
You who fear the Lord, trust in the Lord!
He is their help and their shield.”

Ever feel like it may be time to trust God more? Turn to him now, and ask for his guidance. Trust him and his holy and inspired word.

The Lord’s Righteous Deeds!

The Lord’s Righteous Deeds!

Dear Lord, I pray for those who know the Lord’s history of righteous deeds. In Jesus’ name, amen.

In 1 Samuel 12:6-7 (ESV), Samuel continues his Farewell Address, and he starts to plead with the people

“And Samuel said to the people, “The Lord is witness, who appointed Moses and Aaron and brought your fathers up out of the land of Egypt. 7 Now therefore stand still that I may plead with you before the Lord concerning all the righteous deeds of the Lord that he performed for you and for your fathers.”

In 1 Samuel 12:8-11, Samuel starts to make his case.

“When Jacob went into Egypt, and the Egyptians oppressed them, then your fathers cried out to the Lord and the Lord sent Moses and Aaron, who brought your fathers out of Egypt and made them dwell in this place. But they forgot the Lord their God. And he sold them into the hand of Sisera, commander of the army of Hazor, and into the hand of the Philistines, and into the hand of the king of Moab. And they fought against them. And they cried out to the Lord and said, ‘We have sinned, because we have forsaken the Lord and have served the Baals and the Ashtaroth. But now deliver us out of the hand of our enemies, that we may serve you.’ And the Lord sent Jerubbaal and Barak and Jephthah and Samuel and delivered you out of the hand of your enemies on every side, and you lived in safety.”

Thus, there was a period when the people lived in safety.

Fear and Bless?

Fear and Bless?

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for “You who fear the Lord, bless the Lord.” In Jesus’ name, amen.

As the world celebrates Easter, let us remember those who do not have hope in a risen savior. Some have never heard. Others have made a conscious decision not to acknowledge God role in creation or his victory over death.

Psalm 135:19-21 (ESV) reminds us to bless the Lord.

“O house of Israel, bless the Lord!
O house of Aaron, bless the Lord!
O house of Levi, bless the Lord!
You who fear the Lord, bless the Lord!
Blessed be the Lord from Zion,
he who dwells in Jerusalem!
Praise the Lord!”

If you believe, give thanks for the resurrection and the life everlasting.

Need a Miracle?

Need a Miracle?

Lord, I pray for wisdom for those who feel they must see signs and miracles before they make a decision to follow Jesus.

What tips the scale so a person becomes a believer?

Although everyone is different, some are convinced by the miracles in scripture.

Consider what Hebrews 9:4 (NLT) says: “Inside the Ark were a gold jar containing manna, Aaron’s staff that sprouted leaves, and the stone tablets of the covenant.”

The Hebrews were given countless signs and wonders to demonstrate God was in their midst.

Aaron’s staff was no ordinary walking stick. Often overlooked, this miracle became so important that the staff was placed in the Ark of the Covenant.

Look around. See God’s green thumb in nature. Remember the miracle of Aaron’s staff.
