Some Beautiful Text Here !

Lets improve it with an image…

Sweet !

Lets add some more text !

Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of “de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum” (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, “Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..”, comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

The standard chunk of Lorem Ipsum used since the 1500s is reproduced below for those interested. Sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 from “de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum” by Cicero are also reproduced in their exact original form, accompanied by English versions from the 1914 translation by H. Rackham.

A Different Kind of Christmas

A Different Kind of Christmas

Remember the good old days when everything came together for Christmas.

All seemed to fall into place including the preparation, decorations, friends, family, and food. The celebrations made for a perfect holiday.

This year will not be the same. Whether it is because of the pandemic, or a family member with chronic illness, special needs, or dementia, this Christmas season will not replicate the fond memories of the past.

It is time to create new memories.

If this is going to be a different kind of Christmas, why not make the best of it. Adjust expectations and cater to your loved one’s needs.

One idea is to stretch out the season over a number of days. Instead of everything happening on Christmas day, schedule several more manageable events and activities like the following:

Tree Shopping                         Decorate the Tree

Family Visits                           Gift Exchange

Go See Christmas Lights        Bake Christmas Cookies

Watch a Holiday Movie          Enjoy Hot Coco

Listen to Christmas Music      Sing Christmas Carols

Send Christmas Cards            Go Christmas Shopping

Have a Special Dinner            Enjoy a Pizza Lunch

Attend a Church Service        Watch a Christmas Special

As things become more hectic, please be flexible. Give yourself grace. Take time to enjoy the season for what it truly is, the celebrations of the birth of Jesus Christ. Enjoy!

The Red Sea and Jordan River?

The Red Sea and Jordan River?

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those who know God led his chosen people through the Red Sea and the River Jordan. In Jesus’ name, amen.

A sign reads “Jordan River” at the entrnace to Bethany-Beyond-the-Jordan, a popular tourist site where people can visit the Jordanian side of the Jordan River.

When faced with the everyday challenges, how often do most people think of how mighty God is. If he can part the Red Sea and make the Jordan River passable, we should never underestimate what he is able to do.

Psalm 66:5-7 (ESV) beckons one to recall God’s power and to rejoice.

“Come and see what God has done:
he is awesome in his deeds toward the children of man.
He turned the sea into dry land;
they passed through the river on foot.
There did we rejoice in him,
who rules by his might forever,
whose eyes keep watch on the nations—
let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah

Imagine what it would have been like to be with those who walked through the Red Sea or the Jordan River. How awesome are God’s deeds. Indeed!

Happy Thanksgiving: Some Things For Which I Am Thankful!

Happy Thanksgiving: Some Things For Which I Am Thankful!

Thank you, Lord, for all you have provided. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Thank you, Lord, for all you have provided. In Jesus’ name, amen.

As a believer and follower of Jesus, I am thankful. As soon as I finished writing this list, I thought of more to add. Each day brings new blessings.

I am thankful for the following and more:

For by a personal relationship with Jesus based on my believing the words of John, the third chapter, the sixteenth verse.

For God the Father.

For Jesus’ birth, life, and resurrection which gives victory over death.

For the gift of the Holy Spirit.

For the Word of God and all the authors who wrote the divinely inspired words.

For the apostles.

For translators who make the Bible’s content available in all the heart languages of the people of the world.

For missionaries serving around the globe.

For prayer warriors.

For answered prayers whether the answers be a “yes,” “no,” or “wait.”

For the family of God; the body of believers.

For Sunday school classes.

For men’s and women’s church groups.

For Christian educators and the students in their classes.

For hymns, other sacred music, and for contemporary Christian music.

For the ability to praise God from whom all blessings flow.

For living in a free country where it is possible to worship our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

For believers who persist in their faith even under difficult circumstances and persecution.

For relationships with friends and family.

For work I can do as unto the Lord.

For my calling as a writer.

For my readers. You!

For new believers who come to personal faith in Christ.

For seekers who thrust for living water.

For unbelievers who are friends, neighbors, and acquaintances who keep me on my knees in intercession for them.

For the provisions for my well-being and those of my loved ones, including food, water, and shelter.

Here is a suggestion: Make a list of thing things for which you are thankful. Reread your list at least once a week until the end of the year. Add to your list. Praise God for the blessings in your life.

Greater Is He Who Is In You?

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those who know he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Believers know there are forces that oppose Christ. Scripture includes a discussion of the antichrist, but the spirit of the antichrist is no match when compared with the Spirit of God.

When the author of the book of 1 John uses the term, “little children,” he is addressing believers. 1 John 2-4 (ESV) tells us,

”By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already. Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”

These verses distinguish between those who confess Christ and those who stand in opposition. Believers: I tell you to have confidence because you know who is greater.

Holding Fast?

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those who hold fast to God’s word. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Holding fast to the truth of Scripture can be a challenge. When bombarded by worldly philosophies people can get distracted. So much competes for our attention. Since it is easy to get sidetracked, it is encouraging to know Apostle Paul stayed focused. He preached Christ. In 1 Corinthians 15:1-2 (ESV) he takes time to remind believers of his message:

“Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.”

There are times believers need a gentle reminder. Now, you are aware. Hold fast to the word!
