Established the Lord’s Throne?

Established the Lord’s Throne?

Who or what can bless the Lord? The answer is his whole creation.

Psalm 103:19-22 (ESV) is specific about the Lord being blessed.

“The Lord has established his throne in the heavens, and his kingdom rules over all.

Bless the Lord, O you his angels,
you mighty ones who do his word,
obeying the voice of his word!
Bless the Lord, all his hosts,
his ministers, who do his will!
Bless the Lord, all his works,
in all places of his dominion.
Bless the Lord, O my soul.”

If the angels, the mighty ones, those who obey the voice of his word, the host, the ministers, who do his will, and all his works bless him, are you ready to join them? Go ahead and say, “Bless the Lord, O my soul.”

Slow to Anger?

Slow to Anger?

Dear Lord, I pray for those know the Lord is slow to anger, merciful, and gracious. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Ever give thought to how slow God is to anger? God could react swiftly to sinful behavior without giving a chance for sinners to repent and turn away from their sin.

Psalm 103:6-10 (ESV) portrays God’s justice, mercy, and grace. The verses also show him as slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.

“The Lord works righteousness
and justice for all who are oppressed.
He made known his ways to Moses,
his acts to the people of Israel.
The Lord is merciful and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
He will not always chide,
nor will he keep his anger forever.
He does not deal with us according to our sins,
nor repay us according to our iniquities.”

Are you harboring some secret sin? Reading these verses, are you inclined to change some aspect of your life? Then take action. Do not delay.

The Great Ice Cream Reunion in San Diego, California

The Great Ice Cream Reunion in San Diego, California

Where were you sixteen years ago?

That is how many years had passed since one man and his three sisters were all together in the same place.

I was privileged to attend the august occasion being the husband of one of the sisters.

The blissful reunion was a sight to behold. After picking up one sister in San Diego, the family made their way to Balboa Park. Although it was raining early in the day, it turned into an enjoyable time for a stroll down memory lane. The siblings were raised in Escondido and had fond memories of the area.

Most importantly, the loved ones enjoyed spending time together and  making new memories. Two stopped at a hot dog stand. Then there were interactions with a wide variety of vendors.

After a leisurely meal at Balboa Park’s Prado Restaurant, the siblings walked to the Organ Pavilion.

It was getting near dusk, but then a glorious rainbow appeared.

As it got dark, the unanimous decision was to go to the North Hills Baskin Robins for an ice cream celebration.

Can you taste the ice cream?

Keep The Lord’s Covenant and Commandments?

Keep The Lord’s Covenant and Commandments?

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those who keep your covenant and remember to keep your commandments. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Every day we are alive is a miracle. In light of eternity, consider your lifespan.

Psalm 103:15-18 (ESV) helps us put our life in perspective to God’s eternal nature and how much he loves us.

“As for man, his days are like grass;
he flourishes like a flower of the field;
for the wind passes over it, and it is gone,
and its place knows it no more.
But the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting
to everlasting on those who fear him,
and his righteousness to children’s children,
to those who keep his covenant
and remember to do his commandments.”

Some people might take following God’s commandment so literally it becomes legalistic. Rather, devote yourself to thankfully being obedient to God’s law because of all he has done for you.

East Is From The West?

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those who know as far as the east is from the west, so far do you remove our transgressions from us. In Jesus’ name, amen.

World class runners can cover the distance of a mile in less than four minutes. Those who drive across the country have some idea of the time to travel the distance from coast to coast. Those who circumnavigate the earth in the International Space Station look at time and distance from a completely different perspective.

Psalm 103:11-14 (ESV) is about God’s grace regarding our transgressions.

“For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him;
as far as the east is from the west,
so far does he remove our transgressions from us.
As a father shows compassion to his children,
so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.
For he knows our frame;
he remembers that we are dust.”

Are you at a point to seek God’s forgiveness? Sincerely and humbly approach him. He will do far more than you can ask or imagine.

Bless the Lord, O My Soul?

Bless the Lord, O My Soul?

Dear Lord, I pray for those who say, “Bless the Lord, O my soul.” In Jesus’ name, amen.

When a person says, Bless the Lord,” her or she is doing so in reverence to consecrate, exalt, and hallow God.

Psalm 103:1-5 (ESV) highlights the ways God forgives, heals, redeems, crowns, satisfies, and renews.

“Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and all that is within me,
bless his holy name!
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits,
who forgives all your iniquity,
who heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit,
who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,
who satisfies you with good
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”

Praise God you served a mighty God. Rejoice for all he has done, is doing, and will do in the future.
