Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those who realized the Lord can make them surefooted. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Hind’s Feet on High Places by Hannah Hurnard has been compared to John Bunyan’s Pilgrim’s Progress. Both books are allegories about a believer’s journey. The title of Hannah Hurnard’s book is based on Psalm 18:33. Compare these two translations:
Psalm 18:33 (KJV)
“He maketh my feet like hinds’ feet, and setteth me upon my high places.”
Psalm 18:33 (ESV)
“He made my feet like the feet of a deer and set me secure on the heights.”
Psalm 18:34-36 (ESV) provide perspective.
“He trains my hands for war,
so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.
You have given me the shield of your salvation,
and your right hand supported me,
and your gentleness made me great.
You gave a wide place for my steps under me,
and my feet did not slip.”
May God help you walk confidently. God can help you to become surefooted when the only things around you are rocks and crags. Trust God!
