Don’t Get Drunk with Wine!
Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom for those who avoid getting drunk with wine, but are filled with the Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ name, amen.
If and when drinking becomes an obsession, it can be devastating on many levels. It can change a person’s behavior, affect their heath, and impact the lives of those around them.
In Ephesians 5:15-18 (ESV), the admonition against drinking wine in excess is clear:
“Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit.”
Are you affected by alcoholism? In recovery? In either case, rely on the Spirit of God within you. It may require taking one day at a time.
